Fido Dido was created in 1985 as a character made for a clothing brand. In 1988, PepsiCo licenced him and started using him as the new mascot of 7-Up after Cool Spot. Fido has also been used by PepsiCo as a mascot for Slice in the United States and Fruko in Turkey. .

Fun facts about Fido Dido:
- Fido Dido began as a doodled character by Sue Rose on a napkin in 1985, later named by Joanna Ferrone with the mantra "Fido is for Fido. Fido is against no one"
- In 2019, Pepsico finally decided to revive Fido as a part of its new campaign for 7 Up named ‘Put the Chill’
- There also existed cologne branded with his picture and name.
